Arts Gowanus ArtWalk on Atlantic Ave will return the weekend of June 18th and run for two weekends until June 26th. The 1.5-mile self-guided ArtWalk through Brooklyn neighborhoods of Boerum Hill, Brooklyn Heights, and Cobble Hill will include the works of local artists such as paintings, photography, drawings, sculpture, and large installations. Over 100 artists will display their works in over 70 local businesses’ storefronts, windows, roll down gates, doors, and open galleries. Attendees are encouraged to walk from Fourth Avenue down to the Waterfront to enjoy art, stop for lunch and rediscover the businesses on Atlantic Avenue and the triumphant return of New York City life.

ArtWalk was introduced in October 2020, in place of the annual Arts Gowanus Open Studio event and the Atlantic Antic™, Brooklyn’s oldest and largest street festival, presented by the Atlantic Avenue Local Development Corporation. Both annual events are known to celebrate the community and support local artists. ArtWalk personified those sentiments and also provided attendees an opportunity to explore Brooklyn and return to a sense of normalcy during the pandemic.

The Atlantic BKLN (333 Atlantic Avenue), a new live music venue is celebrating Juneteenth and Pride Month with special events. On Sunday, June 19th at 6pm, they will present Tamangoh’s Urban Tap ‘Jazzamazon,’ a journey into the depth and origins of rhythm dance. The evening will feature tap dancer, Tamangoh, with Lafayette Harris on piano, Hernan Jay Rodriquez on sax, and Jennifer Vincent on bass, along with special surprise guests. Tickets are $20. ‘Pride of Atlantic Avenue’ will be on Thursday, June 23rd at 8pm. Featuring a multitude of colorful, talented, comedians, singers, burlesque and drag performers, the evening will be hosted by popular artist, Zenon TeaVee, with special guest appearance by Erika Klash from Dragula Season 2. Also featured will be presentation of the Second Annual Atlantic Avenue Pride Award by the Atlantic Avenue LDC to Brooklyn Pride. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
