Schoharie County Sunshine Fair

This 143-year family-fun tradition features midway rides and games for all ages, live music and entertainment, demolition derbies, truck and tractor pulls, livestock events, horse shows, Canine Center, Miniature Circus Museum, Model Railroad Exhibit, Antique Tractor Display, Clydesdales, Heritage Village, community exhibits, demonstrations, contests and fair food.

Daily entertainment includes the Royal Hanneford Circus, Nerger’s Performing Tigers, World of Wonders sideshow acts, Escape Explosion Wild West Show, Rosaire’s Royal Racing Pigs, Buffalo Barfield & Un-Herd of Entertainment and Master Chainsaw Sculptor Brian Ruth.

Fair highlights include NY Sire Stakes Harness Racing (noon), Shine Hill Road Band (8 pm) on Tuesday; Draft Horse Shows (9:30 am, 1 pm), Karaoke By Piano Man’s DJ Productions (8 pm) on Wednesday; Kiddie Tractor Pull (7 pm), Demolition Derby (7:30 pm) on Thursday; NYS Sanctioned Tractor Pull (6 pm), Skeeter Creek band (8:30 pm) on Friday; Truck Pull (3 pm), Big Sky Country band (7:30 pm) on Saturday; NBHA Barrel Race (noon) and Championship Demolition Derby (5:30 pm) on Sunday.

Daily admission (ages 3 and older) includes unlimited midway rides, shows and parking. Season passes are available for $55 on the fair website until 7 pm on Aug. 5.

Fair admission for ages 62 and older is $5 on Wednesday till 4 pm and free for veterans and active military (with valid ID) on Saturday.
