Roosevelt Island’s 2019 Cherry Blossom Festival takes place on Saturday, April 13th, at Four Freedoms Park on Roosevelt Island. The festival features traditional and modern Japanese performances, cultural fair, Japanese food vendors, and beautiful cherry blossom trees in full bloom along the west promenade.

The festivities begin at 11am with a Tea Ceremony at Southpoint Park along with food vendors and community picnics along the West Promenade across from Cornell Tech. The Japanese Cultural Fair will be at Gallery RIVAA from 11am – 2pm.

Music and dance performances will take place at FDR Four Freedoms Park from 12:30-5pm featuring Japanese classical dance by the IchiFuji-kai Dance Association, shamisen string ensemble, taiko drummers, and more. See the festival’s official website for a complete schedule of performances.
